Need help! Xbox live vs Xbox 360?

the console is called XBOX 360. XBOX Live is a subscription to play online with other people around the world. if you buy an xbox, you will only be able to play local (on the one console), but if you buy an xbox live subscription card, your son will be able to play online with other people. he could even play with his friends who also have an xbox 360.

Yes they are the same thing. Xbox Live is on the Xbox 360. Xbox live is online. You can basically play with friends and other people. He probably meant xbox live as in getting the membership. It doesnt cost much for the 1 month gold membership, its about $7.00, goes up to the highest $49.00 for a 12 month. That guy said you pay per year. No you dont. you can get the membership whenever you want, and cancel it whenever you want. You can either buy the memberships from a game store, or on the xbox 360 when he has an online account.

so yes you can turn the 360 into xbox live but will need a internet connection and a subscription to xbox live which can be bought at most game retailers or (i believe) on the xbox 360 website.

it costs £40 per year to register it, which gives u full access to online gaming on the xbox 360 with any game that is online capable.

You need to get an ethernet cable (internet wire) and plug it into the back of the xbox, or if you cannot get a wire from your router to the xbox, you can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into the back of the xbox, this is alot more expensive, but can be very helpful if there is no way of connection a wire from your router to your xbox.

360 Arcade is the console that DOESN'T come with the hard drive. It's basically the same thing otherwise. Just with a smaller memory in the Memory stick.

Xbox Live is internet on Xbox 360. You have to set up a subscription to go online. It is the same thing, but you can go online using Xbox 360. That means playing with others.

if you have a xbox 360 you can but a year subscription of xbox live for $50. You buy it and type in the code on the card on your xbox 360. It is probably the most fun you will ever have playing xbox!
