Wireless N and Wireless G?

if i have a wireless g router at home, and i order a laptop with a 1505 wireless n mini-card, can i still connect to the wireless g at home?

    Yes. All wireless formats are backward compatible.

    Yes you can! Wireless N is the newest and greatest! Transfering at 100mbps the same as wired.

    The only thing of using your laptop with a G Router is that you will still only be getting the G speed which is 54 mbps.

    But there should be no problems as far as connecting to it. =)

    Yep. Wireless G is Not only slower but will not give you the range an N router will. I included a link that describes each in detail.

    Yeah the N and G just tell you the signal strength. Any network card will pick up an internet connection

    Generally yes.

    Dell offers two brands of cards, intel's and broadcom's.

    On WinXP both are more or less fine, but you may encounter certain difficulties if you're using Linux, where your mileage may vary.

    yes you can, the G and N represent the strenght of the signal range the parts ( router, adapter) have

    Ensure that you install the most current firmware updates for your router or else it may not work.

    "B", "G", and "N" are compatible

    "A" and "N" are compatible

    "A" will not work with "B" and "G"
