If the fundamentalist Christians in here are right, would you want to go to Heaven ?

How would you spend eternity, if they were right (big leap of faith for that one) but you had the choice :Burning in a lake of fire or spending your time surrounded by fundamentalist Christians ?

I'd have to chose the burning (especially since I would have left my physical body, and fire doesn't really affect the "soul")

I jumped in to a burning lake of fire, I went round round round and the flames grew higher. Preferable to spending eternity with a bunch of fundamentalist, holier than thous.

By the way, there is no such thing as a right-wing Christian. Jesus was a socialist and if you don't believe me, go back to the Gospels - not Paul's epistles.

You would still feel pain for burning, its not just a physical thing. If there was no pain and torture, there would be no point in having a hell. Also, heaven is not like being on earth. Its not about being around fundamentalist christians. Christianity is obviously something you do not understand. Heaven is a wonderfull place. Full of light, love and beauty. There is no war, no pain, no suffering, no sickness, no one acting the way people do on earth. You know being mean, hatefull, lying, killing. No one will force you to do anything but you would be filled with such love and joy that you would want to worship and praise God. People who dont want to, who are filled with such hate or rejection of God go to hell and suffer greatly. Heaven is good and only good so no one bad can go there. Bad as in not forgiven. Servititude doesnt have the same meaning in christianity as it does for the world. Its not about someone barking orders at you and forcing you to do things against your will. When your a christian and filled with love for God you naturaly want to serve. Serve means going out and teaching others about God, being loving and forgiving, and helping people. I cant realy explain it to you. Its something you would have to experience for yourself to understand.

Obviously, you havent chosen christianity so you can never understand what it realy is. Not trying to be rude, just stating a fact. I cant understand atheism or other religions because Im not apart of it. And like you, I dont want to.

If it's a choice between a load of fundies and fire, give me the fire any day. But then, isn't it hell on earth being surrounded by them anyway? so maybe they will be in the fires and we will be bored out of our minds sitting on clouds, wearing wings and playing harps!

If these people are in Heaven I will be the last one even wish to go there. I would prefer Hell from where we can talk to Father Abraham, worry about our 'living' brothers and we can ask for a drop of water from the fundamentalists heavenly christians....

    Stupid! The dead are dead.

Each person receives their eternal retribution in their immortal soul at the very moment of death in a particular judgement that refers their life to Christ...Either entrance into heaven..through Purification...or immediately - or immediate and evelasting damnation. When Christ comes again to judge the living and the dead, all the dead will rise. Those who have done good will be re-united with their souls in heaven with new glorified bodies.....Those who have done evil will be re-united with their souls in hell.

Are you sure you prefer hell?

i do not know what is fundamentalist Christians..

we must believe only what is written in the bible...and the bible sais that there is forgiveness....

and anyway..many times people sin because they do not know..so they are forgiven..any way..they are forgiven even when they knew,,and did what they did if they return to God...then we try to stay close to God..and listen to Him..be kind to one another forgive the other apologise if it was out fault..show that also we have problems and that is all..make it ok,,,we do what we can..and be kind..and true at heart

Agreed fire and burning it is, as you said no body, means no physical pain, so no real torment, I say we get a BBQ going, get some babbys on the spit, crack open some beers and laugh at the fundies!

The fundamental of Christianity is love. If it ain't loving, it ain't Christian. Love all, forgive all, show mercy, judge no-one.

Now, who wouldn't want to live where THAT is the rule?

BTW. Kingdom of Heaven, not Heaven. Heaven is where God is. The Kingdom of Heaven is on this Earth and the Earth to come.

Thumbs down? That's not very loving is it? Still, I forgive you :D

'Course not. I'd never get a chance to chat with Einstein while being in ineffable pain.
