Do you often become frustrated by help lines?
Because of my age I now live for my computer and camera. Quite often I need help, many times it cost £1 a minutes but it is always it seems by Asians who gabble so fast and in any case I cannot understand. Bt are the worst but now I'm getting it from McAfree, does anyone else have this problem or is it just me. I'm happy to talk with anyone and in each case I explain my age and my ability at computers. Its not all that bad. Why do we have to go to Bombay, or is it Bradford. All I want is a little service in my type of English. I now waiting for a call back to put things right which probably I wont understand. I don't suppose it will make any difference but what do you think.

Yeah I hate how they go through the troubleshooting section of the manual you have already been through and then when they run out of ideas because the computer in front of them has no more suggestions. So annoying.

You're absolutely right. I rang BT because my broadband wasn't working, they told me I didn't have broadband and tried to put me through to a premium rate number. I've also had my mortgage providers "helpdesk" tell me my card had been declined, I was trying to pay an extra £300.00 and the "customer service agent" was trying to process a payment for the full balance - a 6 figure sum which I don't generally have in my current account. We should all boycott these companies until they provide proper after sales service!

It wouldn't be so bad if they actually answered the questions. Most of the time they're just reading from a bog standard manual of set answers. Virgin used to have a great helpline for their broadband service which was free, then as soon as they started charging for it, out came the manuals.

These so called helplines always suck. I never got any help from them. If the problem is a bit complex, they never have the answer for it.
