In Need of Good camera?
Getting a new camera, not sure what to get... Want something more advanced. Plan on taking photography classes in college in January. I want atleast 9+ mp and over 10x optical zoom over 15x would be great. Currently i have a kodak camera 12 mp and 5X optical zoom i want more zoom though size is great but would like better zoom. Please help thanks =)

well, if you are taking a photo class,
I don't know how they'd teach it with all digital equipment
but try to find a camera that will let you adjust the aperture,
shutter speed,
and film speed.
this will help you learn about what cameras and lenses can do.
I know on digital cameras it's all 'simulated'
but the physics of the optics is interesting and I hope it's not a dead art.

MPs are overrated. I would go with an entry level 6MP DSLR than a 9 high end. The sensor difference on the cheapest DSLR and the most expensive high end camera is tremendous.
That being said, if you don't want to get a DSLR go for a fuji s8100fd, or if you really like zoom, s8000fd.
Whatever you decide, get rid of the Kodak.

I love my big ugly fat camera. It's black and you have to have a big curtain that goes around it.
