Hm tough one, they're both great songs but I'll have to go with Jesus & Mary Chain on this one.

I prefer Schizophrenia (good live version by the way). Fall is a good tune, but Sonic Youth just seems to take the whole thing a little further. The comparison of these songs is actually a sort of good all in all comparison of the two bands. I like the Jesus and Mary Chain, but Sonic Youth has a lot more "wow factor" and just made such beautiful noise.

I do like some Shoegaze bands, but in terms of musicianship Sonic Youth has more venturization into guiding their guitars into mainly uncharted territories & "wild" direction as far as with Noise music. It's a good song by Jesus & Mary Chain but it's not the most beautiful I've heard & neither is it wild or loud. With Jesus & Mary Chain, I like them & I've seen them live but the same can be said with Sonic Youth too. I do want to say Sonic Youth taps more into the roots of solid music more with it's raw purity, even with comparisons on these songs not including even with this Sonic Youth song being as loud or as wild as some of Sonic Youth's other songs have been. I like Jesus & Mary Chain, but with the track record of Sonic Youth & the performances on these links especially with these songs, I have to go with Sonic Youth.
Yes I did notice errors about what one link showed or what was said onstage, but this is just errors, besides whoever posted the vid with Jesus & Mary Jane was using the album it's from for the picture, I think I've seen others on You Tube have done that, it might not alway be a big deal but when it has the album title showing up front it can be confusing I could see for someone who might not have heard the song before. I'm sure you already knew the difference though. You did remind me though bringing that up Eleanna, that I've gone without a burner for a while, I need to get one & start a you tube account for others maybe. I don't think that particular Jesus & Mary Chain song gave that much competion against that Sonic Youth song as much as some songs would've. Here's something that would be a stronger comparison/battle with that Sonic Youth song--

I prefer "Fall". I'm much more into The Jesus and Mary Chain in general, nothing against Sonic Youth though. :)

I'm gonna go with "Schizophrenia", seeing as (orhearing, right?) "Fall", although a good song, is nowhere near as dynamic as the former. And though The Jesus and Mary Chain are a good band and creators of Psychocandy, it's Sonic Youth for me, easily.

Schizophrenia was definitely the better song. Awesome live video btw!
I'll take Sonic Youth over TJAMC any day. TJAMC were good, but when compared to Sonic Youth... they seem like talentless nobodies. Sonic Youth experimented so much, with guitar sound, song structures... they're one of the most unique rock bands ever.
TJAMC had an intersting sound, but to me they were a one trick pony. Strong melodies over grating guitar.

Sonic Youth, I just love the guitar in this song and the drums it's one of their best songs in my opinion.
