when i first got texting on my phone a few years ago, i arrogantly thought i could, until one day i looked up from my phone and just missed the end of a guard rail that would of that would of defiantly killed me. Thankfully no one was in the car with me and no pedestrians around. So to my fellow drivers, passengers and innocent bystanders...Im sorry for endangering your lives. It will never happen again

No! I do not text while driving. If I really needed to text a message to anyone,I would pull off the road or go into a shopping center than do the text in a safe place. Same thing holds true for talking on your cell phone. Driving is a privilege that you don't want to lose your license for not being allert for what is around you when you drive.

Text messaging while driving is very dangerous. I is too risky and isn't worth a serious accident. No, I don't do that. don't do that. It There isn't anything so apartment that can't wait until you pull off the side of the road. Would you want to be charged with manslaughter because you were not paying attention to your driving. What if you killed a child? You could never live it down.

    Dear Mike,

I cannot drive yet, but If I could I would never text and drive. I personally think texting is out of control. Once, I saw an elderly lady, who did not have her hands on the wheel and was texting. She nearly killed us, herself and others, I am not exaggerating. She was headed strait off the interstate when she was texting, and as soon as she turned she began texting again this time nearly running into us and our family. How would you like to kill innocent children or leave kids without a parent or grandparent? I wouldn't, and I think texting and driving should be considered attempted murder. So don't be an idiot, just call them or wait.

Nope. Sending text messages while driving should be a no-no since it can cause accidents. If there is a need to answer a text message, people should park on the side first so that he/she can avoid accidents and can't cause traffic jams.

I've seen police officers almost get into accident because they themselves are texting while driving. but I bet they would have no problem giving some poor guy a ticket. besides what is it with texting? you cant call someone? I'm sure it would take a whole lot less time to get your message across.

No I don't text or talk on the phone while driving. It is illegal here and besides I value my life and the lives of others around me. If it is an emergency I will pull over to the side of the road and phone or text the person back.....

Edit: If it is a true emergency wouldn't the person call you instead of texting? Calling is so much quicker.....

Unfortunately, yes, I have sent text messages while driving. When text messaging first became popular, I was completely adamant about *not* doing it. It was bad enough for people to be chatting on their telephones, let alone being preoccupied enough to have to be typing into their phones while driving!

But then I too fell into texting, and sometimes I just want to get back to someone right away. It's really bad when city driving because you aren't concentrating on the lights and other cars, but to be honest, I think it's "less" bad when you're stuck in rush hour traffic on the highway and no one is moving.

To each his own. I realize it is dangerous and there are so many consequences that can happen out of a few seconds of texting, but I still find myself doing it. I doubt passing laws will prevent that many more people from texting, but I suppose it's a good measure for legislators to take.

I have never, nor would I, text while driving. Texting requires that I look at the cell phone to check what I wrote.

I have no problems talking on the phone while driving. I can dial and talk without having really any distractions.

No, I don't text when I drive because it is a hazard. And if you are under the age of eighteen it is illegal in most states anyway. Instead of focusing your attention on the road, you risk a collison by focusing your attention on your social life. I agree with this law because most teens care little about the driving and more about their drama. I am a teen myself, an eighteen year old, but I certainly don't put myself or others at risk by putting safety on hold and my social life first. Because, consider this, is your life outside that vehicle more important or the people or you inside?

Never ever nor do I take mobile 'phone calls. If the call is answered i have either stopped or my passenger has taken the call i just don't want to hurt anyone doing that. I might add that the cure was in the first call i ever took and almost ran over a dog in the process. it could easily have been a child in the area I was in. I hate people who do that especially they are turning a corner and coming towards me or overtaking me
