The reason gasoline prices are dropping?
There are a lot of opinions going around as to WHY gasoline prices are dropping. I gather most folks think the reason is because consumers have cut way back on their consumption of gasoline. What is your read on this ? Have YOU cut back on your driving? Now that gasoline is more reasonable are you back to driving more once again?

I think prices are dropping because the American people begin demanding "drill here, drill now!" OPEC saw the threat and backed off. Come next Congress when drilling bans will be reinstated, they'll go back up. It not, Congress will see to it that they do by way of vastly increased taxes per gallon for the democrats have long advocated for higher prices on gasoline, i.e., books by John Kerry and by Al Gore.

To me it's a Governmental control test to us the consumers to keep us under their control. If you noticed the grocery prices went up, the reason given was because the gas prices put more expense on the delivery for the goods. The prices of food still have not come down. And the stamps of course just seem to have to rise. Why? Because it's to control. These are things our Government know people have to use. I have a Senior in High School and his driving stays the same no matter the gas prices. My driving habits are short distance trips.

The whole world is rapidly going into a serious recession so the world wide demand for oil and oil products had dropped off. Thus, the price has dropped for gasoline.
Lots of other things like iron. aluminum, copper, lumber.etc have had similar price drops.

All offense meant for the oil companies.... gas expenses are a huge, fat scam! gas is heavily taxed, and is not any longer EFFECTED by using the provision and insist regulation; The oil companies have lots money and are so "considerable" that they do no longer could desire to diminish expenses as an incentive. people (truly interior america of a) will purchase gas at any fee, in simple terms like food; you go with it and can't stay without it (till you're Amish). additionally, america of a has a *6-month reserve* of oil in case of tragedies like hurricane Katrina; expenses could have stayed an analogous till 4 or 5 months later! We as idot people have confidence what the government and oil companies let us know no count number how obsurd it is (aside from "area fifty one") yet another factor: American vehicles are turning out to be greater effective, no longer much less, so we are utilising an analogous quantity of gas (greater people + greater suitable gas performance = they even out) there is not any reason of gas expenses to be so severe! back, the oil companies are the mummy OF ALL SCAMMERS!! finally, the U. S. government is frightened of oil decrease-offs from the mid-east... however the money is unlikely in the direction of a gas reserve, it rather is going for people's salaries, wars, charges, public companies!! playstation : No offense for all of us who contributed to the hurricane alleviation fund yet.... Over 30% of the money contributed to hurricane Katrina paid for peoples' salaries -- -- New Orleans would not have sufficient police or rescue communities to freshen up New Orleans, so as that they could desire to 'lease' workers from different close by cities (alongside with volunteers). The rented workers nevertheless have a relatives to assist, and could desire to be paid. The Katrina money pay for all of this, plus actual REBUILDING the broken area of the city. additionally, lots of the staff labored extra time, and have been given a greater desirable salary in doing so.... In end, the oil expenses and **area of** the hurricane alleviation fund are a great scam! it rather is form of unhappy how people attempt to take great element approximately different fellow people....
