Computer speakers are picking up a radio station!?

This is REALLY frustrating but my computer speakers are picking up a Mexican Radio Station. It's really frustrating because I can't listen to my music on my computer because then it's a combination of the mexican radio station and my music. How do I get this to stop? Why don't I pick up other radio stations and just this one? Someone suggested I contact the radio station because I think it's local but what are they going to do? They wouldn't care!

If you have 'amplified' speakers (they have a power cable or batteries inside, or a usb cable, and probably a volume dial), then they are picking up the radio station maybe because of the length of the cable between your computer and the speakers (it acts like an antenna)

They also might be doing this because the cable is damaged, or they are faulty, or they are badly made.

Try some non-amplified speakers (just have a audio cable, with no batteries or external power) - they will use the computer to drive them directly, and may not do this. - try some real cheap ones from your local computer store to help find the problem - or try a friends speakers on your computer.

You can also try some ipod or other headphones into the computer instead and seeing if you can still hear the mexicans in those. - if you can still hear the radio station in headphones, then your computer is letting the interference in (or playing it) - you'd need to take it to your local computer repair store.

Sometimes people set the speaker volume really high, and the computer volume really low - that will also cause this - you should put the computer volume quite high (near max), and then adjust the speakers volume control from the lowest setting.

    hope that helps.
