Merino, I think is very nice yarn. Not itchy at all. Just the stuff to make socks.

Are you asking if superwash merino wool yarn is itchy/uncomfortable to the skin in general or is there a specific yarn that you are asking about?

I have knit socks with various superwash merino and they are not itchy.

everyones skin is different , i have always taken the skein of yarn, lay in over the shopping carts handle, rest your forearm on it and go shopping for a bit around the store, the inner part of your arm is sensitive and a good "practice" area to find out how it feels. and yep i have done this . may look a bit weird, but because you really cant just stuff the yarn anywhere else without being accused of shoplifting its an ideal way of checking things out before you buy it.
