Windows XP is your operating system. You can't avoid it, it's built into your computer and everything on your computer needs Windows XP to work properly. Windows XP has got nothing to do with the browser you are using. I'm using Windows as well and I have Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer and they both work fine.

If you are already using windows XP on your machine you can not avoid using it. If you have Vista you do not need to. If you have windows 2000 you do not have to yet, but there may come a time. By then you could probably get Windows 7. Anything earlier, and the machine is unlikely to be capable of running XP.

You download Mozilla Firefox as a program to use as a browser and you click on it instead of Windows Internet Explorer for your browsing -
XP does not matter as Firefox works well with this system -

If you want to make mozilla as your Default Browser,
Open mozilla=tools=option= Advanced=system defaults= make a tick in the system defaults= save
now you can avoid Windows Internet explorer as your web browser

If you don't want to use Windows XP then the easiest way would be to use Linux or unless you want to go buy an Apple computer...

That question makes no sense....avoid internet explorer? Very confused.
