These you can find all across many areas. And if you happen to find an area you like,Cherish It.For these areas are fast falling into History,as we clear more area for growth.
I live in the North Central part of Florida. And to this day I never travel without some type of way to take photos. When I was 16 and just starting drive, this was back in 1972.My place of employment put me on Interstate I-75 for a short drive of about 10 miles.
One summer afternoon on the way home a thunderstorm had just passed over.Taking the exit off ramp on I-75 and 39th.ave I then turned and headed east.As you exit and go east you pass over I-75.This area is on the top of a natural hill. This area is locally known as Spring Hill. After passing over the interstate, the hill and highway gradually falls.
This general area of Florida is hilly, because of a natural lime rock belt that runs down through the center part of the State. At this date the exit only had a few Service Stations and a farmer was growing corn in all the open area around the hills in this area. This is why I never travel without a way to take photos.
The thunderstorm was still close I could see the lighting and hear thunder. The huge clouds climbing and boiling as they grew and dropped more rain. The many colors of the clouds were enhanced by the sunshine peeping through the open areas. With the area being saturated from the rain,a glistening sheen covered every thing.
The wind blowing gently through the corn and the many huge Live Oaks.Made every droplet shine as if they were diamonds. And off in the distance were two Beautiful Rainbows. Many folks have never seen double Rainbows before. The only sad fact here is,I didn't have a picture. And all the corn is gone to a strip mall and the many other merchants in the area now.
But to this day I still have this image forever planted in my thoughts. It is as if the Creator put this here for me to Cherish,in a way I guess this is true.So like I say if you do find your perfect hill Cherish it for one day it will all just be a memory.
Oh and take a Damn Picture!!!hehe.

North Georgia, pretty much all of the western US, and the areas the poster above me said. I grew up in Illinois, and man, I never realized how flat it was until I left. I moved to N. Georgia, and thought those were real mountains - then I went to Colorado. Very hilly (mountainous might be a better word), beautiful terrain out there!
In Illinois, if you go to McClean county (Bloomington-Normal), it has some hills. The terminal moraine, which is where the ice sheet of the Ice Age stopped advancing southward, is located right around Dawson Lake at Moraine View State Park. Pretty cool area out there, you can see where the land turns flat, since the ice sheet leveled everything it passed over.
