What do you think about this statement?
Anti-drug advocates are the biggest protectors of drug dealers in the united states
Ahh yes, but aren't anti-drug advocates being unrealistic? there has never been a drug free society in the world, ever.
To think we could ever possibly stop all drugs at the border, prevent any home-grown drugs and maintain any kind of freedom, that is the truly ludicrous statement.
Also, wouldn't stopping all of them continue to raise prices, since people still want to do them, and if you were the only person in the united states that grew pot, hell, you'd have a nice monopoly going for you.

There's some merit to that, indirectly, but on the whole ludicrous. Anti-drug advocates want drugs completely eliminated, not just to remain illegal so that drug dealers can get paid more. They want the customs officers and drug police to work harder to get these guys. This quote is just looking at the direct economic situation as a result of the illegality of the drugs. Yes, illegal drugs are more expensive, have more of a risk, and thus keep drug dealers in business, but to say that the anti-drug advocates are the biggest "protectors" of drug dealers is just one dimensional and mostly wrong.
There is a difference between someone who doesn't want legalization of a drug and an anti-drug advocate. I think that you are confusing the two. Anti-drug advocates want all drugs stopped at the border.
