Possible amplifier/subwoofer/wiring problem?
Ok, here is the deal...I have an 01 S4 with two 12" Kenwoods, a 450W amp mounted behind my backseat, and the assembly is connected to the stock Bose system...
For the past year or so, when I turn the volume up high (decently high, nothing extreme) or when I drive over a small bump, my amp will make a clicking noise (kind of sounds like live wires) and then it cuts out...but since then I have figured out that if I hit the amp with my hand, it will turn back on...I have NO idea what the problem is and its very frustrating
PS:
*The amp and subs are 6+ years old (which could be the problem)
*The fuses are FINE
*The wiring is FINE
Any suggestions??

well like you said the problem may be the amp itself...aside from that the only thing i can think of is check your ground wire...make sure it is connected securley to bare metal on the chasis of the car....if there is paint between your ground connection and the chasis then i would sand it down to bare metal and see if that helps
hope this fixes your porblem

My guess is that there is something popping out of place inside your amplifier, and when you hit it with your holy hand, it somehow fixes it?
Try moving your amplifier to another location so it can be laying flat on a surface.
