What happens if the plaintiff doesn't show in court? ?
I filed a charge against someone but when the detective called, I told them I didn't want to press charges. Then I got a letter in the mail telling me my court date. I am aware that if the defendant doesn't show up they will get a warrant for their arrest. But what happens if the plaintiff doesn't show up?
This is a domestic violence case. I guess the prosecutor got involved. I'm asking what if I don't show up in court? I'm not a witness, I'm the person who originally filed the charges but tried to get them dropped.

If this is a criminal matter, you are the "victim" not the plaintiff. If it is something like domestic violence, and you decide not to press charges, the State picks it up and you still have to go to court. They can issue a Failure to Appear Capias.

The plaintiff is the person seeking remedy in a civil matter. This sounds like a criminal matter, where there is no plaintiff, but rather a prosecutor.
If you've been subpoenaed to appear, you have to do so. If you don't, you could be jailed.

Charges may be dropped, if not accused by the state. The officers involved may testify, if in a "Domestic Charge". Depending on the state, the officers responding make the charge and follow through.

you aren't a plantiff, you are witness for the state. The police are pressing some type of criminal charges and you are their witness. If you fail to show up you will be arrested and be held in contempt of court.../

Depends solely on the judge. Normally if one doesn't show up the other one gets what they want out of the divorce.
