Trinitarians, why believe in the Trinity?
This is your calling. This is your chance, tell me WHY you believe in the Trinity. What verses. I do not need human analogies, I need Biblical Proof. The Bible should answer this question, not human explanations or theories. Now I do not believe in the Trinity because I believe I have covered mostof the arguments that support it. I just wanna make sure I didn't leave any out. I know it may seem like I am here for de-bunking your faith, but rather see it as an opportunity to share your faith with me. I wanna see what you got=) Thank You!
Question: Show me what you got on the Trinity
I appreciate the answers. Clearly my question was not specific. The fact that the Father Son and holy spirit are mentioned in the Bible in no way suggest that they are One God.
Read 1 Cor. 8:6
6yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.(NIV)
Also read 1 Corinthians 15:27,28
27For he "has put everything under his feet."[a] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. (NIV)
Explain these verses in a "Pro-Trinitarian" perspective please.
Yes, 1 John 5:7,8 does "support" the Trinity when it is worded in that form. But that is a completely misworded translation of the verse as many scholars both trinitarian and non-trinitarians would admit.
Asiah X, I have read those scriptures, and I have studied further into them aswell. Email me at anytime if you'd like to discuss my findings. I appreciate the tone of your answer. God bless you

The Trinity doctrine includes the following definite ideas:
1. There are said to be three divine persons—the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit—in the Godhead.
2. Each of these separate persons is said to be eternal, none coming before or after the other in time.
3. Each is said to be almighty, with none greater or lesser than the other.
4. Each is said to be omniscient, knowing all things.
5. Each is said to be true God.
6. However, it is said that there are not three Gods but only one God.
Invite a trinity believer to search the Bible, especially the 27 books of the Christian Greek Scriptures, to see if Jesus and his disciples taught a Trinity. As he searchs, ask him:
1. Can you find any scripture that mentions “Trinity”?
2. Can you find any scripture that says that God is made up of three distinct persons, Father, Son, and holy spirit, but that the three are only one God?
3. Can you find any scripture that says that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom?
If he is honest, he will have to answer no to each question.
Jesus never taught a trinity. At John 17:3, he said that his Father is the ONLY true God.
Paul agreed with Jesus that only the Father is God. At 1 Cor. 8:6, he said: "But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him."
Instead of Jesus being part of a triune God, 1 Tim. 2:5 says: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
NO trinity believe can prove the trinity by the Bible. At the most, they will throw out verses and say: "Read this," and offer NO explanation.
Most trinity believers are so far out of date that they have yet to be told that there is a spurious phrase that has been added to the end of 1 John 5:7 to make it appear to suport the trinity. Most modern Bibles omit that false phrase.

God is a trinity of persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the same person as the Son; the Son is not the same person as the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same person as Father. They are not three gods and not three beings. They are three distinct persons; yet, they are all the one God. Each has a will, can speak, can love, etc., and these are demonstrations of personhood. They are in absolute perfect harmony consisting of one substance. They are coeternal, coequal, and copowerful. If any one of the three were removed, there would be no God.

Hello,
For starters, Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Further down in 1:26, He (God) goes on to say, "Let US make man in our image and in our likeness". Us denotes more than one. Image and likeness denote replica of God, and as we are body, soul and spirit, He is also Body, Soul and Spirit.
In 1 John 1:1, It states "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Jesus was the Word made flesh, so the bodily or fleshly part of God was expressed through His Son, the Messiah. During the ministry of Jesus on earth, He stated " I and the Father are One." In fact, He took every opportunity to clarify that when you saw Him (Jesus) you also saw the Father as well. Another scripture in the Bible states that Jesus is sitting at the right Hand of the Father, which means He (Jesus) is a separate person, from the same source, another form of the Father. Upon His (Jesus') ascension, He told the disciples that He would send a Comforter, The Spirit of Truth to dwell with them and to lead them into all Truth and teach them all things. Another scripture states from the mouth of Paul, " If this same Spirit that dwells in Jesus dwells also in you, it would quicken your mortal body." The Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) that came is apart of the US, and it was that Supernatural Spirit that raised the Messiah from the dead.
So the Trinity is a Union that was duplicated on earth....as the Father, Son and the Spirit, there is the Union of the Father, Mother and Child, also individually the three fold Body, Soul and Spirit as well. If you need the actual scriptures for the above mentioned references, or if you need more info from me, just let me know. I appreciate the opportunity. God Bless.

The Bible speaks of the Father , the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Do a search and you will find those terms used numerous times IN THE BIBLE. We use the word Trinity to describe those terms. Now you prove they are not in the Bible.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

1 John 5:7 KJV (Douay-Rheims also)
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
Matthew 3:16-17
_And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
_And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Because it has been the constant binding teaching of Christ's Church from the beginning, and Christ told His Church "whatsoever you bind upon earth is bound in heaven", and "the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth". Do you believe what the Bible says, or not? If you reject one of the core beliefs of Christianity, your beliefs may resemble Christianity but they are not Christianity.
