    When the equation of a line is y=something, then the slope of the line is the coefficient of x.

    The coefficient of x for the given line is 3/4a. This has to be equal to the slope.

    3/4a=9/16

    Multiply both sides by 4

    3a=9/4

    Divide both sides by 3

    a=3/4

    _/
