I'm originally from KY too (S.E. part), and came to FL many moons ago. My original reason for moving was for a job teaching, but it wasn't the job that kept me here...it was the great people and lovely weather. I do go back to visit, but I'll never live in KY again.

Pensacola is nice, but I think you might like the Tampa/St. Pete area better. Beautiful beaches and lots of things to do besides 'beachin'". I prefer a smaller town to live in, so I live north of there, but within an hour drive. A normal day here, to me is working, but still relaxing or going out in the evenings and weekends. The good thing about it is that if you don't want to go to the beach, or out, one day, there is always the next! St. Pete weather is also much nicer in the winter than in Pensacola. If you do decide to try it for a little while, don't be surprised if that "little while" turns into years!

I live in the south, and go to florida often. The cheapest beach area is Cocoa Beach. Start doing some research and look it up. Its on the atlantic side. I have been to a bunch of places in florida, but that is the coolest, laid back beachy area that isn't so expensive!

well it all depends on your lifstyle

    try sarasota(beautiful place)

and no its not just beaches and sunshine all day we get rainshowers here and there and it could be pouring on your side and across the street is completely dry.

it gets cold during winter like wednesday its supposed to be 32 degrees..we have hurricane seasons but this seoson we didnt get any

umm.what else, if you live in the wrong place the drive to get anywhere can be very far..thats about it,try coming for vacation and see if you like it but remember that everything looks sugarcoated on vacation and when you actually move its something totally diffrent then what you expected
