YOur question is cut short, what? Well I'' give
it a shot... I would make both of us sign an agreement/contract. Exact amount of canvases, price pr. canvas, as well as cost of portrait. Beings you are an artist, I could see asking for a portion of the cost upfront, (supplies). Contract is the bottom line. Protects you and your client!!!
