When should I test??

Hiya! I'm in the same boat as you. My cycles vary and have been between 23 and 27 days apart, with a short LP (8 average) and today is day 30 for me with no sign of AF. I have taken two tests, both BFN.

However from what I have been reading about testing it is 14dpo when your most likely to get a BFP (if pregs). The tests use an average of A 28 day cycle, with ovulation day 14...But for us we ovulate later than the mid-cycle and therefore have less chance of testing positive on 'day of period due'.

I wasn't charting fully this month so I don't know when I ovulated - it has been between day 15 and 19 though so I am confused as to why it would suddenly have jumped much later, if it has and I'm not pregs? If I did ovulate at day 19 that puts me at 11dpo which IS still pretty early for testing and I should wait until Saturday if AF doesn't come before. If you know when you ovulated count 14 days from then.

Also I found that medically a period is classed as 'late' only when its past 5 days from your usual (and 'missed' when 6 weeks have gone by)

i wouldnt have been able to wait as long as you did! lol! wll done! if your normal cycle is 29 days and your now on 33 your 4 days late and have a high chance of being pregnant! do a test in the morning with first wee and if you are it will tell you! good luck huni! *************

in my opinion its not too early to tell in my first pregnancy i did a test a week before my period was due and got a feint possitive and the following morning i got a clear possitive and with this pregnancy i got a dark possitive 4 days after my missed period. good luck to you, ask your pharmacist for a test that can pick up a small amount of hcg in your urine they are sensitive and should be accurate! yay for you hope you edit your question to let us know theresult :)

If your cycle is usually 29 days, you can test on any day after that. A test should be accurate if you take it now, and with your first morning's urine.
