Do you Agree this fight scares you?

You know after seeing the Jones Jr. vs Calzaghe fight and Jones Jr looked really old and was cut for the first time I have seen in my lifetime seeing him fight. He wants to still fight and that is somewhat frightning, but this next fight coming up on December 20th has me really scared for this all-time great and sure fire hall of famer! Nickoli Valuev will fight Evander Holyfield in Germany. Now first Holyfield is 46 yrs old, looked horrible vs Ibragamov in his last fight, and still is thinking he can win this belt in route to unify the heavyweight division! I understand the man needs money and he has KIDS, but this is not the fight he needs to take and he should retire and enjoy that his career was great and his fans like myself will not forget. I for one will not watch the you tube videos of this fight or his fight going back to 1999. I pray he will be cool and enjoy his life......

You can't stop him from earning a living, but Holyfield will be a very sad figure by the time he is in his 50s. He already is pretty much completely punch drunk - he has no reflexes and has never been a big enough puncher to give himself a short night, and now its even worse. I don't think Valuev really has the technique to KO him, but he's big and can wear down Evander and catch him with shots.

Valuev is horrible, and Evander may even be able to win this fight on the judges cards, but there is no question every fight he has taken this decade is loss for his remaining years outside the ring.

It is pitiful, not terrifying, Holyfield has no business still fighting at his age. Evander's skill level has deteriorated to the point where it is a disgrace to boxing in general with such exploitation of a great champions name recognition. Eventually Holyfield will be seriously injured and the parasites feeding off Evander's name will be forced to find another host. I share your prayers for Evander, my only hope is that he ends his career injury free and healthy enough to enjoy his accomplishments. At this late stage, only his unrelenting will is keeping his career alive, he should have long ago retired.

That said, it is not our place to make decisions of this nature for so accomplished a boxer as Evander Holyfield, only he can decide when he has had enough. I doubt while he is still breathing that he will ever retire, quitting was simply not something Evander Holyfield ever did, so odds are he won't start now.

This fight is frightening, Holy is in danger and the promoters and managers should be sent down for the murder of Evander when he eventually dies in the ring!

His skills are gone, Holy aint been any good since 1999 after Lewis took his titles.

Evander should have kept his rocket in his pocket and not married the money grabbing bitches that are forcing money out of him for kids he probably never planned. What money will the women get when Evander is dead??

If Evander is so broke, why not earn money in another job, like training fighters, or even travelling selling his stories like Tyson and Bruno are doing.

No, Holyfield will beat Valuev. He is the one champion out there he can beat, even if he can only manage the odd flurry it will be more then enough to knockout Valuev.

He's been a punched ticket since the James Toney fight in October 2003.

You are right, he should retire, he is past his prime. However, lucky for him that he fight Nicolai Valuev. Valuev can't fight.
