lazer printer vs. inkjet printer?
I have a small business and need a basic combination printer/fax/copier machine. Do not need color print. Need suggestions as to whether to buy a inkjet or lazer.

laser if you don't need color. It will cost more for the machine, but will be less expensive to run. If it's for business you will probably be printing maybe a generous amount and you will love the economy from laser toner cartriges as compared to ink. ink cost about 12 cents per page where as laser is often only 2-4 cents per page.

Color inkjet printers have been fixtures in most small businesses for many years. They're cheap (under $60 in some cases), last a couple of years and everybody uses them. So they must be the perfect office tools, right? Maybe not.
When you do the math on printing, inkjets may well cost you a whole lot more than you realize.

You don't have to go Laser anymore for the cost of ink. HP has a 7000 series, 7590, 7680, or 7780 in which is a great printer! The high capacity cartiridges, 88xl will run you about $38 for 2500 prints. An equivilant in a laser would be about $110. If you're not printing labels or need anything for an extended amount of time, you could go with one of these printers. However, if you file things away or print out shipping labels, you should go with a laser, so they don't fade, or wipe away.
Good luck@!!

Laser costs more to buy but its toner lasts longer than the low end ink jet ones.
Ink jets no longer come in monochrome black. Ink cartridges tend to dry up if you don't use them fast enough.
Many combo machines (print / fax / scan / copy) that are low cost have a short life time as the low end units are poorly built.
Some people allow their pc to print and receive fax. With a scanner they can also send fax. This can be less costly. Receiving fax on the pc allows you to delete the FAX without printing it - nice way to avoid paper waste from junk fax.

Laser printers are much less expensive if you factor in the cost of ink VS toner. Ink jets usually run out of one color and then you have to buy the cartridge with all three, and they are expensive. Or you use up the black one. I have a Laser printer and I do a lot of printing and have replaced the toner cartridge once every 6 months

The more you print, the more economical a laser printer is. Per page, they are far cheaper than inkjet. Plus, they look much more professional for a business. Go with laser.

lazers cost more but they have lots more ink then the inkjet. So what ever you plan to buy its going to be about the same cost.

i recommend using lexmark , hp or samsung for your printing needs
before buying the model consider your paper load and what features you may need such as duplexing, eco mode, networking etc...
