a fox has been around help!?
a fox has been hanging around our home. we are in the city/suburb.
He could careless if your out or not. Mostly we see him in the dusk into the night. He wants my cat bad...but my cat stays in at pm any good suggestions????? the closest he come is up on my 1st step to my front door!!!

EVEN IN THE SUBURBS YOU CAN USE A PELLET RIFLE --I HAVE ONE THAT SHOOTS A PELLET AT OVER 1000' PER SECOND -----IF YOU HAVE NOTHING AGAINST SHOOTING A FOX TO PROTECT YOUR CAT -----1 WELL PLACED PELLET WILL KILL A FOX -----PLACE THE SHOT AT THE TEMPLE AREA WHEN HE TURNS HIS HEAD TO THE SIDE OR AS HE WALKS AWAY HIT HIM IN THE PRIVETS ------EITHER CAN BE A 1 SHOT KILL------IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN SHOOTING IT -----CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE THEM TAKE CARE OF IT ------THE PELLET RIFLE I HAVE IS A DASIE MODEL 1000 ----YOU CAN BUY THEM AT WAL*MART AT A LITTLE OVER $ 100.

The fox probably doesn't want your cat...he is probably more interested in your cat's food. A coyote on the other hand, he'd eat your cat no questions asked.
Just keep your cat indoors before the sun goes down to be on the safe side, but honestly you've probably had foxes around your home for years, just this one is bolder and you see him

i don;t think the fox after the cat, but the food. to a fox is just a small dog.to remove the fox take the foof for can in side he should move on

Call animal control since you cant shoot in the 'burbs'. You could buy a live trap and bait it with something, and once you get him, call animal control or go to the country and take care of it.

or buy some CB subsonic ammo for the .22 and shoot it. dump he carcass in a river.

I agree that fox was probably after the cat food and not the cat - remember they have a right to be in this world as well as you.
