I need a suggestion: What song should i re-arrange for a project?

I need to pick a song to re-arrange.

Not just remixing it, but changing the melody just a little.

The genre has to be changed etc.

So it should sound familiar as the original song, but somewhat different.

Maybe let's say an old country song into reggae, or a hymn into a pop song or something like that.

I need some suggestions. I'm blank on ideas.

What songs do you like that would like to see re-arranged, not mutilating the original, just changing it's "taste" a little.

    Absolutely, and I wish he would do it his self anyways but , try some Neil Diamond . Cracklin' Rose or Sweet Caroline maybe. Just take the dated horns out and layer some acoustic guitar or whatever..

    Also check out Jacqui Naylor doing Gershwin's 'Summertime' over the Allman Brother's Whipping Post, Talking Heads 'Once In A Lifetime' over Weather Report's 'Birdland' and many other "acoustic smashing" stuff she does. She is AWESOME. I hate mash-ups, HATE THEM, but she does such inventive things.

    Our worship leader has changed The Eagles' Peaceful Easy Feeling into a Christian Rock tune.

    Also The Beatles' Let it be int a song called "listening" Also a Christian rock tune.

    John Denver Annie's Song to Jesus' Song.

    All work really well and people seem to enjoy them in coffee houses. NOW it's up to you to fill in the blanks.

    Or you can plagiarize a Queen song and add a half step and call it yours in the RAP genre and make it your own if you were Vanilla Ice....Or was it Millie Vanillie Ice Ice Baby.............But I digress. Can I do that at the end of a statement?

    there is this cool song with the help of a band spoke of as The consumers spoke of as, "i will't look to Make You Mine." in case you examine the lyrics you'll rapidly stumble on that it really is on par with the plot of Romeo & Juliet. Romeo can't in any respect quite make Juliet his because of relatives competition. similar is going for Juliet who's compelled into an prepared marriage and stuck in a forlorn state until eventually Romeo comes calling for her.

    The lyrics can be made into what ever, it is a pretty cool song so that is what I would suggest.
