Why isn't our public transit system being utilized more?

Why can't I get on a bus to go across town or to neighboring towns? My community population is around 15,000 and is about 40 miles from a very large city yet there is no public transit system is use.

For transit to be more widely used it needs to be efficient and safe. I think the efficiency has much to do with planning cities better. If you could get 40% of the population of a city into one of three denser areas arranged in a triangle so it is only one fast leg to the other two areas -- you have a good setup for getting 40% not to use their cars every day.

Many flee to the suburbs for better schools. If people could live closer to their work in the city and put their kids in a school of their choice (catholic, private, or choice public school) using a voucher, I think you would get a surprising number of takers.

Okay right from the top. Campaigns for free rides was thwarted by

911 who truly investigated and found that America has the most

likely hostile cells of al qaida. Though it is unlikely that the report

in 2005 has not been cleaned up, the point they made is serious.

America has no funds to support immigration in the general budgets.

It is a nation that is anticrime and is right about that. Though the

ownership of the equipment itself is an area of concern. Over 60%

of the active cash is in tourism travel, and shopper areas and the

bus companies have become staffed with police. This over reaction

is not what it is about, it is blatant gang related itself and truly the

makers and owners of the buses have never been paid a dime. The

bank carries on the payrolls, and actually could use plenty of help in

Obamas campaign to turn the country seniors over to retire and get

the workers some solid economy. Help stamp out the single biggest

farce in history, automobile drivers running the economics. This is

a problem and is hostile, outright violent, and involve hideous actions.

Prevention experts brought in from United Nations teams have

exterminated the leaders of cells and attacks and shopkeepers

could use public and reserve help with knocking out gangster held

cash, laundry, gouging, and racketeering groups that menace the

shopping attempt. Large companies are providing incentives like

free gear, and prize games to eliminate tax aliens.

Too many people thing negatively about public transit. I have had many conversations about the "type of people" who use public transit and the safety of it. We need to adjust our thinking and move away from the thought that every person over the age of 16 needs their own car.
