spiritually and morally speaking is fighting in god's name actually an insult to the almighty?

there are people fighting to defend god and god's honour. in doing so do they really say that god is unable to defend himself?

i'm not necessarily talking about religions connected with jesus. there are other religions that are much more ... proactive ... in their "defense of god", issuing death threats and carrying them out, etc.

    Which god are they referring to? The God and Father of Jesus Christ would never give credit to such things. What would Jesus do?
