Military family moving to Fort Meade?

I was trying to determine if it was worth being out on the waiting list. My husband's an E-3 right now. But he is trying to waiver for a promotion because he has been in the military for 2 years but switched from Reserves to active. anyways. I was wondering how long it takes being on the waiting list. I know it differs by place, so i am kinda hoping someone who has gone to Fort meade and has been on their waiting list for housing would please answer my question.

the waiting list also based on his bedroom entitlement. we were told 3 months( O3, no kids). and chose NOT to bother and ended up buying about 30 minutes away. plus you cannot get on the list until he checks in.
