How do I restore a trashed Download folder (MAC)?

I accidentally trashed or lost my download folder. How do I create a new one so that my internet downloads go to it? I don't know where downloads are going now.

When you say (Mac), do you mean this problem is with Safari on a Mac? Two ways to get a clue. Search for a download by typing the file's name in the search. That will tell you where the file is.

There is no "Downloads" folder on a Mac unless you make a new folder and give it the name "Downloads". Same with Windows, no "Downloads" folder. The "default" location for Safari downloads is the desktop. Maybe that is still the downloads location. If you have a hundred files and folders on your desktop, that will make it hard to find a new download. You can make a new folder, name it "Downloads" folder and put it wherever you want. Then open Safari. Go to the "Safari" menu, choose Preferences. In the preferences window, choose the General tab. Where it says "Save downloaded files to:" click the list and choose "Other..." Now navigate to the "Downloads" folder you made earlier.
