Christians, Jews, Muslims: What are the most compelling prophecies in your religious tradition?

I'm an atheist, but I have been told of a number of quite specific prophecies that were made in the Old Testament that seem to have come true. For instance, the prediction of the consolidation of the nation of Israel in May 1948 in Ezekiel and Leviticus (explained very well here:)

So the question is, what are some other compelling biblical prophecies with EMPIRICALLY VERIFIABLE and SPECIFIC predictions.

More importantly, why do Christians seem to have the message of "let me show you how great god is"--as if that's some justification to believe--before presenting someone with good historical evidence?

The Prophet Muhammad predicted that Muslims will conquer Roman and Persian territory and this later came true when Suleiman the Magnificent captured all Roman territory and shortly after the death of the Prophet Muhammad Persia was conquered by his companions. See:

Volume 4, Book 52, Number 267: 
Narrated Abu Huraira: 

The Prophet said, "Khosrau will be ruined, and there will be no Khosrau after him, and Caesar will surely be ruined and there will be no Caesar after him, and you will spend their treasures in Allah's Cause." He called, "War is deceit'.

The Prophet predicted that Muslims will fight with the Mongols, like when the Mongols sacked Baghdad. See:

Narrated Abu Huraira: 

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Turks; people with small eyes, red faces, and flat noses. Their faces will look like shields coated with leather. The Hour will not be established till you fight with people whose shoes are made of hair."

Extremely accurate creation of Israel in Quran:

"And We said unto the Children of Israel after him: Dwell in the land; but when the promise of the Hereafter cometh to pass we shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations." (Holy Quran 17:104)
