Pregnant after Husband got a vasectomy?

Has anyone ever conceived after their husbands vasectomy? I mean like, 3 years later? I ask this question with the understanding that the baby is absolutely not someone else's... not a Maury Povich Show kind of situation! Thank-you for your time.

Update:

Just an FYI... I already have 5 children... I'm a) far to busy to be 'sleeping around' and b) in a very loving and trusting relationship. To the people who are doubting... I'm sorry that the relationship you have with your spouse is not strong enough that you would give her (him) the benefit of truth in every situation... that is too bad for you.

I have a post-vas daughter who's 11 now. I know quite a few people who have conceived after husband's vasectomy and one woman who conceived after having her tubes tied.

Vasectomies are difficult to reverse - only about 50% are reversable. It requires an operation. A woman is very unlikely to get pregnant once her husband has a vasectomy, if they both wait a month before having sex (so that all the sperm in the system have died before sex).

Glad to hear you have a great relationship. To really add cement to your already good relationship with your husband I would suggest you have your husband do a DNA test. The vasectomy may not be 100% and that would be the cause of a post-vac pregnancy. It would be normal for a man who believes he's sterile that when his wife has a baby to have some doubt. You suggesting the DNA test will remove all doubts. And everyone will live happily ever after. Have a great life.

Your have to remember that either a vasectomy or a tubal are not considered 100% only about 96% you just caught with that 4%. What's more important the new baby and all the love it will bring.

This is VERY common. 50% of more vasectomies reverse themselves within 5 years. Happened with my husband and I

You can still get pregnant after your husband got a vasectomy.

Vasectomy doesn't stop the sperm count during the procedure.

It's proven 98.99 % effective, but the other 11 % after vasectomy pregnancies can happen.

Actually, I was studying about this last night for my bio medical class.

The only way effective to stop pregnancy after vasectomy is that the sperm counts are rid off to 0 sperm count.

If you can be pregnant or if you have infertility problems I reccomend to follow this method http://pregnancy.toptips.org/

Many factors can cause a couple trouble in conceiving a baby, I'll list a few of the most common ones in women:

    Anorexia or other dietary dysfunctions

Lacking amounts of FSH and LH are produced, so ovaries aren't as functional as they could be, and so not many eggs are produced

Stress, causing periods to become irregular

Medications such as cancer treatments, antidepressants, hormone therapy, pain killers, and antipsychotic drugs can all cause temporary infertility.

With the method that I posted above you will be able to get pregnant!

I know one person who had to have a vasectomy done 3 times because his plumbing re-attached itself. He and his wife have 2 extra kids to prove it. It does happen. Have your husband provide a sperm sample to the doctor to check.
