How can I improve my math mark?

My mark in grade 9 academic math is at about a 56%, which is a D. I've been going to after school math help and studying for tests. I don't understand why it's not changing. We just got a new teacher at the beginning of this week and I haven't been doing much better.

How can I improve my mark so I don't have to go to summer school or stay back a year?

Get a tutor, do the readings, do your homework, do the questions.

The human brain doesn't usually work quantitatively. Math is very quantitative, moreso than physics. Therefore, you should practice doing questions. Once you get into the right mindset, your math mark should improve.

Yeah, I know, academic math SUCKS. I'm in grade 10 academic right now and my mark is terrible. I actually had to re-take grade 9 academic, and I'm quite a good student. Go for extra help, review every lesson and don't let things slide. If you don't understand something, don't wait, ask right away!

    Good luck!

P.S, the American grading system is completely different, to the person who said a 56% would be a fail.

Mathematics requires constant practice and familiarity.Work on 20-30 math problems [you will find in the Question Bank for Math] that you think are tough to solve, everyday without fail.Start slowly.Solve them yourself even if its too tough in the beginning, explain to your teacher only doubts that you may have in the problems that you have chosen to solve everyday...In time you will find amazing ease with math.

from time to time you desire instinct to locate the splendid attitude of answer; that's partly a organic present, and partly could properly be superior. As you're solid at math, i assume you have that organic present, so: a thank you to advance your suggestions of answer? One solid element you're able to do is to get decrease back on solved problems: attempt and resolve them further and further circumstances additionally in case you already be attentive to the answer; in this way you've gotten a deeper perception interior the logical shape that's at the back of the concern; perhaps you come across different a thank you to unravel it, and actual you will unquestionably understand an identical subject shape in different destiny problems. attempt to try this with many varieties of problems.

Read your book and use BOB only after you study and attempt the problems. BOB being the Back Of the Book. I have some crappy teachers. I learn math on my own with my book only.

I find the best thing to do is to start out with simpler problems and work up. Learn the properties for what your doing and make some note cards. When you finally get it right, you will feel good about yourself, its worth they effort.

    A D? It'd be an F where I'm from.

Hmm,, well pull the teacher aside && tell him/her what's up. They may be willing to stay after skool fer you.
