Have the atheists and gays succeeded in uniting Christians at R & S?

I was here a few months ago and the Christians were arguing amongst each other. I took a break for a while. Now I am back and I have found that those debates have all but ceased. Now there seem to be more atheists and gays than there are Christians here, but the Christians are not debating each other anymore. They are UNITED in defending the following core tenets of Christianity:

The inerrancy of Scripture

The existence of God

The reality of sin and temptations to sin

The Justice of God that transcends our human ideas of justice

The fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, is both human and divine, and is the MOST INNOCENT VICTIM who suffered on the Cross to redeem us despite the fact that we are wholly unworthy.

Shall we all congratulate the atheists and gays for bringing us together even if it's in an imperfect union??

I wish that all Christians could come together as one the way Christ intended. There is still alot of hate on this site, as you can see by a few of your answers. I wish all people could come together for the common good of all man kind

Nothing rallies like an external enemy.

But, in R&S and beyond, they are hardly united on their approach to homosexuality,

(Did you follow the Jerusalem and Lambeth conferences this year?)

especially when some gays claim to be on their side...

And not all Christians hold to (some doctrines of) inerrancy of scripture.

But some Christians don't count such Christians as Christians

One might mention the pope, transubstantiation, women priests/bishops, the KJV only mob... Far, far from union.

And so it goes. You have a point, but you can't press it too far.

There once were two cats of Kilkenny...

Yes it's all very nice to Love to Hate the ones that disagree with you most and then brag at the fact that those that do, seem to make you quarrel amongst yourselves.

Example: Jehovah Witness being told they are not Christians

Catholics being told they are not True Christians

Protestants being told they have changed the bible thus are not true Christians.

Everyone telling Westboro Baptists they are giving True Christians a bad name.

If you want to say congratz to Gay Men and Woman and Atheists for "uniting" you this way then feel free.

I am a Christian. I would question the "holiness" of homosexuality; however, I would be more apt to befriend a gay man than traditionalistic-fundamentalist that stored hate and pride in his heart. Just because I agree with you on Christ and possibly a view on homosexuality doesn't mean that I agree with your approach of attacking the issue. Christians are commanded to befriend the gay, not attack them or push them away. I would dare say that your question isn't to do that; rather, it's to cause them to hate and walk away from all Christians, even though we may not all share your views. The same goes for the atheist. The vast majority of them at least know why they believe what they believe, unlike many of us Christians. Sorry, but your attempt at being warm and fuzzy has backfired; and yet, Rome still remains lavished in vanity and heresy.

"The inerrancy of Scripture" means without error and that is a blatant LIE.

    Bats are not birds.

Rabbits do not chew their own cud.

    Pi does not equal 3.

The Earth is not a circle.

    Rabbits do not have hoofs.

The cure for leprosy is not rubbing birds blood all over a person.

    The earth is not flat.

    Snakes can't talk.

    Donkeys can't talk.

People can't float to the sky.

"The existence of God" is just ridiculous as well as illogical.

If I look at the available evidence I see that haphazard mayhem happens to everyone regardless of thought or deed EXACTLY as if there was NO invisible magician up in the sky pulling the strings.

"The reality of sin and temptations to sin" is a xian invention to use as part of the management tool to control the peasants.

THAT was the reason most cultures had 'religion'; as Seneca said:

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

"The Justice of God that transcends our human ideas of justice"

That is obscene; tell that to the starving little children in Darfur.

"The fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, is both human and divine"

Actually Jesus is a carbon copy of Horus and or Mithras.

"MOST INNOCENT VICTIM who suffered on the Cross "

Oh, come on; IF the scam is true he was a party to it.

"despite the fact that we are wholly unworthy."

    Speak for yourself, sunshine.

Pat Condell: Religion feeds on a broken spirit and that’s why it tries to break your spirit the moment you come into contact with it: Submit, Obey, Do not question.

I don't agree with some other Christians. I can't agree with the anti-science, anti-catholic, gay-hating, biblical literalist, fundamentalists. I am sorry.

Uniting in shared bigotry and irrational hatred of what you don't understand. Just what Jesus would have loved. /snark.

The fact that you think this astonishes me.

I will attack the faults of your post.

    1. The bible if full of lies.

    2. god doesnt exist and you cant prove god does exist.

    3. god's justice? how can god have justice if god doesnt exist?

    4. jesus didnt exist either.

so all of these are moot points in your post. If you are against me that is fine, all I can say to you is bring it. My IM/Emails are always open

Sure, why not? Of course, it proves that the only thing that unites Christians is their hatred for anyone who questions their beliefs..
