Why does it seem like everyone is obsessed with twilight and anime? What are so great about them?

Well...from what I've seen. People enjoy anime because its a world in which fantastical things can be created and seen. They like anime for the same reason many people like star wars and star trek. Also, some people just love the more bizarre graphics that are attained in anime. As for twilight, I have read the books and though they were very well written. The reason that people are "obsessed" with twilight is because of what the core of the story is about. It's more or less a modern day Romeo and Juliet, except with a vampire. Women and teenage girls are constantly wanting for a perfect love that they feel can overcome anything and that is found in the twilight novels.

No offense to anybody who likes these things bull I agree with you that people go a little too far with some of this stuff I know a girl who is so obsessed with anime that she dresses up as characters and Twilight has too much hype around it I come on to this site just about every day and all I see is a majority of Twilight questions "who's seen Twilight", "where can I watch Twilight online". It's one thing to enjoy the entertainment it's another to go as far as to base your life around it. It's fiction. You guys need to find a hobby other than drooling over a character from a book come to life. I don't ever read anybody here say ooh that guy who played Edward is hot, I see ooh Edward is hot I love him. It's not Edward it's some kid who played him. What if they got some ugly douche bag to play him would you still like him.

twilight presents an idealistic image of a boy whom every girl dreams of being with. but in reality there is no such thing as a handsome vampire with incredible strength and ardent passion so girls (both young and old) pour over books or flock to the theaters to imagine meeting this fictional character. personally i think the whole idea of a perfect guy is stupid because there is no such thing (surprise surprise) which is the whole reason i didn't buy into this crap. but i guess if people want to dream, they should go ahead.

& anime? umm, it's just fun to draw i think. i dont know much about it.

idraw a little bit myself, but yeah, i'm obsessed with twilight because of the koolness in the book, we can relate, somehow ... [[ if we have sparkling boyfriends ]], but yeah, read it yo, you won't be let down ... and if you wanna watch the movie, isuggest you watch the movie before you read the book cuz then you'll expect things, and yeah. i'm saving you from disappointment.
