If you drive fast and at high RPMs, you do where the engine out faster. People that race cars, wear out engines quickly.

It depends......... if you're just going down a motorway / freeway / autobahn / oval race track non-stop, it shouldn't do.

If you're doing it on a twisty road like the Stelvio Pass, or the Nurburgring race track and driving fast, and constantly changing down to 2nd / 3rd for the corners, it may do... especially if the oil in the engine & gearbox ain't fully up to temperature.

Just driving round town in stop / start traffic doesn't help the engine / transmission either, with engine potentially getting clogged up with carbon deposits with not enough revs being used to clean it out, and constant 1st / 2nd / 3rd gear changes.

My transmission is actually going out of my vehicle I think. And our dealer ship guy basically said that it was due to the assholes who owned it before us. Revving it up constantly and driving WAYYYY to fast then coming to a complete stop drew the brakes out as well :(

    Sorry!

Driving slow... low engine revs... can cause more wear than driving faster. But driving fast usually causes you to brake harder, corner harder which wears brakes, tires, suspension components, drivetrain.

Moderation in all things, my friend...

It's mostly about smoothness. If you can drive fast, but smoothly it will be fine. Meaning smooth gear changes, smooth braking, etc. Except when you're really going TOO fast and hit something.

Your engine wears down with high RPM. So, local driving and stopping can cause more wear than highway driving.

The harder you are on your vehicle, the harder it is on you.
