Are you getting tired of Yahoo Answers too?
At first it sounded like a good idea, ask anything you want and hopefully somebody answers, but I've had so many bad experiences I'm not sure if I want to use it anymore.
Does any one else feel the same way? For example, you ask a question that needs an elaborate answer and you get a "yes" or "no". Or, someone responds with "Did you try Googling it?" Or how about "Go to my website www.whatever.com" and it's a totally irrelevant website? Have you ever asked a question and got one of those people that try to make you feel stupid about even asking, like "Boy, that was a dumb question, why would you even ask that?" Have you ever asked a theological question, only to have someone say God is a fictional character and had that person get voted for best answer? Have you ever had someone answer with "Maybe"? Have you ever been dissed by the spellcheckker poleese becuz you mispeeled something and they feel they have to ridicule you for that?
Have you ever got "WTF are you talking about" or how about "I'm not sure what you're asking" -well why would they try to answer if they don't know what you're talking about?
Okay, I'm done, just want to know how you guys feel. Well, back to posting on my favorite website, Yahoo Answers.
Sorry, reposted this again on accident.
New answers okay though.
You guys are so funny-thanks!
Uh, well some of you are squares, most of you are pretty cool though, thanks

Yes I have been tired of q&a. My mistake was getting rid of all my contacts. I took a break and then when I came back I had to search for my friends.
A day ago I asked a question that I have since deleted. Because the ones that did answer made me feel dumb for asking.
So now I won't ask any thing I'll just answer and learn.

You usually get those weird and stupid answers when your question is too complicated or too good. I mean, people are lazy, they don't want to spend three hours answering something, or trying to understand what the hell this person was trying to ask... There are only a few people here who actually know what they are talking about, and some people prefer to get the two points and answer with something irrelevant, than don't answering at all.
The keys to get good answers are:
-Be brief. Stay simple and try to be as direct as possible.
-Try to use a common language, don't use words that are too complicated or long.
-Don't ask things that are too specific. People like it more when they can say what they think, instead of answering something that has only one specific solution, like a maths problem or the name of a disease, etc.
Good luck,
And remember that you can't change the people who are here, nor what they are going to say, try to go with the current and be as "them" as possible so you get good answers.

I feel the same way at times. Most of the time we have to deal with baby like children who think that since they are on the internet, they can play and ruin a good thing for everyone else. Pretending to be an adult while you are really a bed wetting little boy or girl. It also explains their raising. Sorry kids. Your parents didn't do a good enough job. Doctor must have dropped you on the floor when you were born.

Lol. Been there and taken all the insults and bashing and called names many a time, but I keep coming back for more. I have made many good friends here and it is worth it. Every barrel has bad apples. You just have to pick the good ones.
BTW. Once in a while I get fed up with the bad apples and take a break from Y!A, but the good ones keep me coming back.

I don't know what other people do in their freetime, but I work 50-60 hours a week, I run errands, knit, take care of pets, draw, listen to music, participate in debates, talk with family, draw, read novels...
There's so much more to do with ones time than be on Y!A all day, don't you think? I don't have an issue with spending a couple hours online once a week, but if someone is spending 10 hours day on here 7 days a week, I'd say they should seek other venues for their boredom.

I come and go from this site and have experienced many of the same things you have plus some such as clicking on links only to have my computer attacked. If there is anything worthwhile on this site it is the rare moment of getting a truly unique response.

Yes.
No.
Maybe.
Did you try Googling it?
Try looking on www.whatever.com
Boy this is a dumb question.
Wtf are you talking about?
I'm not really sure what you're asking.
:)
Yes, I agree though.

If Yahoo Answers is just a big nuisance then you should just take a break from it or stop using it altogether. Don't pay any attention to the ignorant answers.

I know how you feel. I love it when a girl asks for you to be honest but then deletes your answer when you tell her you don't like her prom dress. I answer a lot of fashion questions, obviously...
