I am not meaning to be facetious here, but let us suppose for a moment that they do ban knives due to the murder rate going up involving sharp, lethal weapons. Now, no more murders using knives . Now they are bludgeoned to death using baseball bats. Now we ban baseball bats. The murder rate continues to climb when the murderers run their victims over using cars. Can you see the point I am bringing across here? You simply can't ban any particular implement due to how it is used illegally.

I also want to add that Japan has EXTREMELY tough anti-gun bans in place for years now. Now that the average citizen can't own, use or buy a firearm, you see what has happened. They are using knives.

If someone wants to do harm to another, they are going to use whatever means is at their disposal. Simply banning one particular item means they will resort to using another.

I hope this helps and you can find it useful

How will they cut their food?

It'd be impossible to eat all those weird sea creatures without sharp objects, Japan would freakin starve to death.

That is out of the question. There is no way that they will do it. Killers will always have a way to kill and there is no stopping them.
