What is the name of the park where kangaroos roam free ?

I went to Australia back in 1996 NSW and went to a big park where kangaroos walked around freely. This was a fun natural interaction experiance. Does anyone know the name of the park/zoo/wildlife refuse?

Update:

Was driving distance to Sydney. Had sidewalks where Kangaroos came up to the visitors. The park had hundreds of kangaroos.

Has to be Symbio Wildlife Park.

I haven't been there in years, its located between the Northern Illawarra towns of Helenburgh and Stanwell Park. 15mins south of Sutherland.

Taronga Zoo has an area where you can mix with kangaroos. Also Waratah Park at Terrey Hills let you do this (is it still open??)

You'll have to more specific, there's lots of places you can interact with kangaroos, was it in Sydney? On the coast, inland, north, south?

Could be either Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

Or, as it was 1996, you could have visited Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve in Canberra. Unfortunately much of that was wiped out in the 2003 bushfires, but I understand the kangaroos are back now.

  • I think I know what you are talking about but I cannot remember the name of it! If it is the one I am thinking of, it has closed down now. It also had rides (merry go rounds) and stuff?? There was laos ot her animals there. I think it may have gone bankrupt?

Jurassic Park is a 1993 science fiction film directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel of the same name by Michael Crichton. The film centers on the fictional island of Isla Nublar, where scientists have created an amusement park of cloned dinosaurs. John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) invites a group of scientists, played by Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern, to inspect the park prior to its public opening. Sabotage sets the dinosaurs loose, and the technicians and visitors attempt to escape the island.

Spielberg acquired the rights to the novel before its publication in 1990, and Crichton was hired to adapt his novel. David Koepp wrote the final draft, which left out much of the novel's exposition and violence, and also made numerous changes to the characters. Spielberg hired Stan Winston Studios to create animatronics to portray the dinosaurs, shots of which were then mixed with newly developed computer-generated imagery by Industrial Light & Magic. Paleontologist Jack Horner aided the actors and the special effects team in creating authenticity (although aspects of the animals' depictions became outdated due to changes in evolutionary theories, particularly the Velociraptor). Filming took place from August 24 to November 30, 1992, in Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, and California.

Jurassic Park is regarded as a landmark in the use of computer-generated imagery, and received positive reviews from critics, who praised the effects, though reactions to other elements of the picture, such as character development, were mixed. During its release, the film grossed more than $914 million, becoming the most successful film released up until that time, and it is currently the eleventh-highest-grossing feature film (taking inflation into account, it is the 17th-highest-grossing film in North America). Jurassic Park spawned a franchise of films and other media, including the sequels The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001). Jurassic Park IV is currently in development.
