Which is your favorite Anita Blake Book? and why?

Sorry I've read one to many Twilight questions and just have to post about something else... Hopefully since this is vampire and somewhat love related it'll get some hits.

What is your favorite Anita Blake Vampire Hunter book, by Laurell K. Hamiton and why is it your favorite?

Mine is Burnt Offering. It's before she's gone sex crazed. Anita has actually decided which guy she wants to be with and they are moving ahead with their lives. The Tri is causing some problems and then there's the excitement of the visiting council members.

Update:

I agree that Edward (Death) is a very interesting character; but for some reason Obsidian Butterfly seemed far too different from the other books I see it as outside the actual series.

I would have to say that I love the first three best of all. Asher's a really interesting character, yes, but I loved the mystery in the first three that was mixed with hints of what she and Jean-Claude would later become.

I read the graphic novel version of Guilty Pleasures and thought it was really cool. The translation of text into graphics was interesting.

And, I just love that she won't meet Jean-Claude's eyes at that point.

To add to what the next poster said, I'm really sad Edward hasn't been in any of the later books. I found him intriguing because I couldn't completely figure him out. Jean-Claude I could read better. Not Edward. I mean, the guy's a sociopath!

I think I have I have to choose two favorites. The first is Guilty Pleasures. I liked Anita in the beginning before she had slept with almost every character in the book.

I still continue to read the series and think the last couple of books have actually been a slight improvement on where the series was heading. Also, with every new book they discover this crazy new height of power and you just have to ask how much more power can they gain every single book?

My other favorite is Obsidian Butterfly. I'd always been intrigued by Edward (waves off confused, obsessed Twilight fans =P ) and I liked getting a more in depth look into his life.

I've only read Blue Moon, but it was honestly too violent for me.

I can't really get into that.

I like more the Day Watch and Night Watch supernatural and vampire books by Sergei Lukyanenko. I recommend them.

The first few books had to be my favoureite. They get a bit melodramatic by the end of the first ten books. She's been with three guys all who havn't been human. Then she dumps them, comes back to them. Gets dumped herself, then gets back together while she's with someone else.

    See where Im getting at!

My college-age sister reads those books and really likes them.

I think I'm going to do it this summer when I, hopefully!, have some more time.

Too much school-crap going on! lol.
