does anyone else feel NFL regular season games aren't that important?
i just got to the point where i really don't start watching the NFL until the playoffs
i like how in college football ever game counts, and it actually matters if lose your next game
in the NFL a team can win 8 games and then win in the playoffs and still be champions
regular season doesn't really matter as long as you get in the playoffs...
what do yall think
yeah i do agree the bcs bowl games are pretty stupid but i think that the playoffs take away from the regular season excitement
i think that if the teams are tied for the spot then they should play each other to see who is going to advance to the national championship
i agree w/ aj maybe an 8 game playoff wouldn't be that bad
but to everyone that answers this just know that i don't like the bcs i just like the feel of college football more

The regular season games are just as important as the play-off games. Just look at how frazzled the old fish got when the Pats broke their single season consecutive win record, and nearly ted/broke the undefeated season record.
Believe me, they all mean a lot.

if you're a fan of a team, you want your team to win every game. this doesn't happen in the nfl because virtually all teams are good.
college is different, as the elite teams only have one or two tough games a season.
college is jacked up. trust me, you don't want that system in the nfl (other than their overtime rules, mind you). in college the regular season matters so much because of our stupid system, right? FALSE.
have an 8-10 team playoff. your team still can't lose but maybe 1 game and still be in.
also, sure, a loss or two in the nfl won't really matter over the course of a season, but they add up quickly. you zone out for a few weeks, and your team goes from first to third in their division.
teams that win 8 games aren't a lock for the playoffs, and those teams RARELY advance.
but ultimately, unless you only want to let 8 teams in total, then you can't solve this problem.

It's only 16 games. It's not as if you can take a few games off and easily make the playoffs. All of 'em are important and the season goes so quick I'll always watch. It's not like an 82 or 162 game season like hockey, basketball, & baseball. Also in college, every game matters only to the teams that are viewed as the favorites already. If you're not a perennial powerhouse the odds are against you. Their whole system is retarded and cheapens the "every game is important" theory.

Well first of all there are less games played in a college season, so mathematically, each game is more important in college. However when half of those games are against teams such as West Idaho State University well I wouldn't really feel as though those games are important. In the NFL there are no "gimme" game like that.

True, but in the NFL it is extremely hard to win each and every game. I suppose you could just skip the season and wait until the exciting playoffs, but if you are a fan of a certain team, that's not how it works. Every game is a must win for fans :)

False... Every team have to win enough regular season game in order to be a playoff there is no lottery pick for playoff team, otherwise Lion would get in as 10 losses team..

I mostly agree with you. College games do count more. Teams sometimes make the NFL playoffs with a .500 record. In college, if you lose a game, your chances of playin for the Title seriously diminish. Lose two, and it' nearly impossible. It does happen from time to time. But, not likely. College is way more exciting. NFL players are mostly overpaid cry babies and self important thugs. Long live college football. Screw the NFL. Amen

when it comes to college football, there are 1000 different teams in 100 different leagues. the nfl consists of 32. in the nfl, there is one goal: win the super bowl. in college, there are three goals: get an award, get to a bowl, and get drafted. in today's nfl market, if your team is not at least 10-6, chances are ain't no playoff possibility.in college, you win 8, your school gets free beer commercials. and the money endued
