Will Notre dame finally fire Charlie?

Before this season every Irish fan blamed Charlie's losing seasons on Ty Willingham's inability to recruit. The Irish now have juniors that were a member of a highly touted recruiting class. They have been in the top 1 recruiting for the last 3 years, but they have not produced. Who's fault is it now?

Update:

Luke this isn't even about Ty for me. This is about a coach that has done nothing since he has been at ND. The only Willingham reference I made was the fact that Irish fans blamed Charlie's losing on him. Don't pull that racist crap with me, I didn't even go that route. Read please don't just fly off the handle.

Update 2:

yeah the other luke sorry about that (rays luke)

Update 3:

(Its not me...)

I would agree with you 100% if ND didn't consistantly rank in the top 10 recruiting classes for the last 3 years. That tells me they aren't only recruiting the "smart kids" They are recruiting kids that have athletic skills, but Charlie has yet to find a way to develop his talent. Lets be for real, 2 years ago everybody in the world wanted clausen, and had he signed with USC, He would be a redshirt freshman right now, waiting for Sanchez to graduate. He would have won 2 championships. Pete Carrol develops talent, Weiss doesn't.

Update 4:

also according to rivals.com Nd has recruited players from CHicago, Atlanta, Maywood (IL), Ft. Lauderdale, Clevland, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Brooklyn, Columbia, South Carolina, Detroit, Portland, and Louisville. Not one of those seem like a small suburb full of "smart kids".

In case you don't know what maywood is, Maywood is a suburb just west of Chicago. It is basically Chicago's west side. It is one of the poorer towns in the area, but their football, and basketball teams produce talent every year.

Lol, you are so right. Ty was never this bad. Yeah, Charlie has had enough time and can't blame Ty anymore. People always made excuses for him because he is spawned from Bill Bellichick, but his time has run out. Reminds me of how Dungy got treated in Tampa and how Gruden is a golden boy.

Source(s): I hope you are talking about the other luke. I never said anything about race. I was just referring to two good coaches getting fired. Yeah, Ty wasn't great but he didn't have ND in the dumps. And Washington is irrelevant because we are talking about ND, not Washington. Same with Dungy turned team around, then got canned before they gave him a decent QB. Got Brad in his last year, when they had him on hot seat from day one that year. And not saying Ty shouldn't have been fired either, but nobody has really stepped up since Holtz stepped down. I've never seen Irish this bad, not as bad as this current squad under Weis.

Notre Dame recruits smart kids from the suburbs going to a religious school. The higher ranked colleges are more concerned with big, mean, fast, brutes...from the inner citites....the formula for success. Until then, Notre Dame will always be fading on the national scene. You can blame the coach all you want, but there's a bigger underlying issue afoot.

(ps, i'm not saying its right or wrong, good or bad, just stating the facts, also i'm generalizing....not a good thing to do, but at least i'm letting you know that i'm doing it..)

The trend for bad recruiting AND poor coaching of the ones they do have, has extended to about 13 years now. My favorites QB of all time and possibly favorite player of all time came from ND and took my team to Superbowl XVI, so ND hasn't always been this bad.

We'll see what happens in a the bowl game and if USC hangs 70 on them. It doesn't look good for Charlie, but the 20 million remaining may be a bit much for a buyout this year. I think they may give him 1 more year.

No. They will give him a 10 year extension so that the black racists can come on here and start screaming about Ty Willingham and calling everyone racist.

    Love that Willingham legacy:

Taking a once Proud Washington program all the way to........0-11!

Source(s): I can't believe you clowns are still crying about Willingham after all these years. he only won with Davie's players and his teams have gotten progressively worse every year he has been a head coach!

I don't think they will this year. I think he has one more year to turn things around.
