Did Black people really make America what it is today? (read details)?

why was my question deleted, do white supremasicts control yahoo, I was simply expressing the fact that had it not been for Afro-Americans this country would not be half of what it is today

We all know that this country was built from the ground up by the free labor of kidnapped African slaves and their descendants, who worked and toiled in every way possible and got this country on its feet. we definately built America, and went unrewarded

and funny how we now need a black man to fix the mess a white man made, and get this country back on track

I also agree with the guy above me

What a load of **** LOL! WHite people invented all those things. The only thing blacks invented was crime, AIDS, and twerking.

I'm actually learning something from this question. I never knew all those where invented by black people, to tell you the truth.

I think inventors in general are overlooked, and almost never get the credit that they deserve. I don't think it's right for certain people to take credit for what people did in the past though.

It annoys me when people say things like, "we've invented so many things in the past". No, you didn't do anything. They did. Stop trying to take credit.

well, everyone has something to contribute. and people wouldn't be so sure who invented what first either because it could have already been invented elsewhere.

and if one didn't invent it first, others can. but i'm glad we have so much diversity in america.

Black people have contributed a great deal to American society and I think that is great and something to be proud of. However, I try not to think that we as a race made America what it is today because there are many contributing factors that have made America what it is today that cannot be attributed to any one race.

Of course african americans have contributed to what America is. I do not believe that we wouldn't have air conditioning, though! LOL

someone would have invented it- maybe just not for a few more years after. Same with anything anyone invented.

Actually most of your info is misleading.MOST of those things were not INVENTED by Blacks. Those people made improvements in some cases,or invented certain pieces to improve such inventions.See this website for the truth behind these myths

    http://www33.brinkster.com/iiiii/inventions/

Also ,then, explain to me why Africa is still basically stuck in the stone ages.

Source(s): Actually, there are numerous websites showing these facts.Dont try to deny this .It is obvious the white man is way more advanced.

good point! Black people have vastly contributed to America and it would not be what it is today without them.

But a few of your inventions weren't actually invented by black people:

Air conditioning: Willis Haviland Carrier invented it...http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa081797...

Hugh Rock invented the hair brush in 1854

the typewriter was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes in 1868

    http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/bltyp...

and a few others are wrong

but yes go black people, go humans!

yes black people did greatly contribute, there is no denying that

the lady above me is speaking of inventions which white people were given the credit for as you stated

they also invented Rock and Roll, which Elvis imitated

I think they did and I'm not even African American. They've done so much and people stereotype them and don't appreciate their struggles. They look past great people like MLK and Rosa Parks. African Americans opened so many doors and faced so many hard ships, they're a race I admire.

white people would've invented those things eventually.

Black people do contribute to cops having a job
