Yesterday someone said I looked like a Caterpillar
those nasty words still hurt even though familiar
Today, to my surprise, I was told I was like a pupa
now I can hide away safe and secure; super.
Tomorrow I will be like a beautiful butterfly
and all will gasp in surprise as I flutter by.

I think to accurately describe yourself, you need to write it. "You" being the operative word.
