need advice on a irritating smell in my 04 explorer?

any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell of kerosene that was spillt in the rear cargo area. its annoying me and I've tried every thing to get rid of it but its still there

    If it's carpet then the insulation under it is soaked pull up the carpet and remove the insulation SOAK your carpet with a carpet cleaner till it's wet on the back side, scrub it, vacuum it out then check to see if it still smells if it still has a small amount of oder try Fa-breeze to kill the rest. Then let it dry and replace the insulation with new insulation. If that doesn't do it you will have to replace it.

    squeeze fresh lemon juice on it,let stand for 10 minutes, then blot with a towel. Also, twist the peel and shave the "Zest" of the lemon on the affected area it. You can put sliced apples and oranges in the vehicle and they will absorb a lot of the odor. The most important thing is to remove as much of the odor causing substance as possible. This is a very inexpensive and eco friendly way to disspell unwanted odors.Oh yes, vacuum when complete.

    i spilt diesel in my truck and had to go to a commercial cleaning place to get them to clean the carpets
