Salon or home care: How do some black women get sliky salon hair?

I didn't want to put this question in the hair section, because not to many people answer those questions there.

But, I want my hair to look more silky and smooth after I relax it. Usually it sticks up and it is not flat. I don't know if it's the salon or the products they use, but can I get hair after I relax my hair next time.

What products can i use

Update:

Now there's nothing wrong with natural hair. I think it's sexy and If been natural before. I might do again in the future!!!

The key to dealing with flyways after relaxing is deep and regular conditioning.

You mostly want to use hair care products that have the following ingredients:

Olive Oil: which penetrates to the core of the (or hair roots) for deep conditioning

Tea Tree Oil: This is good for the health of the scalp, fighting itching and flaking (dandruff).

Meadow foam Seed: This is good for keeping the hair moisturized.

Almond (or sweet Almond) oil: it wraps or coats the actual hair strand itself, and it smells heavenly.

All of my hair care products have at least two of these ingrediance in them. Oils are a grate source of moisturizer and conditioning because they don’t weigh heavy on your scalp like hair conditioners, pressing creams or “grease” does. Especially if you sweat a lot like I do (because I’m always on some bodies tread mill working out).

Currently I use a combination of things to keep my hair both conditioned and ‘frizz free’.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair mask is the main one. I apply this immediately after I strip my hair of the relaxer with hot water (because the shaft is still open to receiving the relaxer). If you can, wash the relaxer out without using the color tent shampoo. But make sure you get it all out and apply this as the base conditioner. This hair mask is a concentrated weekly treatment that was developed to treat extra dry, over-processed and color treated hair. You use this treatment each week for effective treatment because most black or Afro Latino women have problems with conditioning when we relax our hair to much and too often.

Once you apply the hair mask, follow it up with the Queen Helene Cholesterol hair Conditioning Cream. Apply this after you apply the hair mask (Do not rinse the hair mask out!) Normally, I sit under a dry for about 15-30 mins with med to high heat, then I wash these two conditioners out. Followed by the color tent shampoo that you find in the box. Make sure you remove all reminisce of chemicals from your hair. And don’t forget, that before you even apply the two conditioners, ensure that all the relaxer has been removed from your hair (I can’t stress this enough). The first time I tried this I had a small patch of hair missing in the back of my head. My home girl was calling me ‘patches’ for weeks (LMAO).

And last, try the Long-Lasting Sleek System Garnier Fructis Weightless Leave-In Anti-Frizz Serum, Sleek & Shine. It works wonders on my hair! It contains nutritive fruit micro-oils to tame frizz and flyways. It also nourishes straight or curly hair, which not only make it shine, but it improves the texture and manageability of all hair types.

Check out the Mega Thick Growth Oil and Stimulating Growth Oil form ‘Doo Gro’ for constant scalp relief during the winter months. You hair will be much lighter and it keeps dandruff to a minimum (if not elevates it all together). I hope this helped and good luck my sista.

I'm no longer black, however for some reason my hair is closer to combined race hair than white hair. I've had precisely one experience with a white stylist that didn't lead to tears. After I realised black stylists be aware of exactly the way to reduce my hair and give me the nice recommendation on find out how to maintain it, i will by no means let a white individual cut my hair again. @Gee: it's now not racist (and it wouldn't be racist the opposite direction either). You have got to realise that there is a very enormous change between general white person hair and usual black hair. It's pretty original for a curly haired individual to get a bad reduce from someone who has no idea the way to cut curly hair, so just suppose what it's like while you take into considerations the better differences between typical black hair and typical white hair. Are there white stylists who recognize easy methods to reduce black hair and vice versa? Sure, of course. But there isn't any convenient approach to determine that out without asking some akward questions and then having to blindly trust the solutions. An extra essential factor, if i'm going to a black stylist, she has the right merchandise for my hair (style of silly to head to a wholly one-of-a-kind situation simply to purchase my conditioner), can loosen up my hair (i don't think non-black/mixed race stylists even offer that provider, at the least, I've on no account seen it listed).

The salon. When my hair was relaxed I went to the salon and sometimes my mom would do it at home. The salon is so much better. I'm not sure what they used. But they blow dry the hair and they wrap it and set it. I guess that's how it turns out that way.

i'm no longer black, yet for some reason my hair is nearer to mixed race hair than white hair. I even have had precisely one adventure with a white stylist that did no longer bring about tears. when I realised black stylists understand precisely the thank you to shrink my hair and supply me the final suggestion on the thank you to preserve it, i'll by no potential enable a white guy or woman shrink my hair lower back. @Gee: it truly is not racist (and it does no longer be racist any incorrect way the two). you ought to comprehend that there is an fairly massive distinction between in many circumstances going on white guy or woman hair and classic black hair. it truly is fairly undemanding for a curly haired guy or woman to get a undesirable shrink from somebody who has no concept the thank you to shrink curly hair, so purely think of what it truly is like once you're taking into issues the bigger adjustments between in many circumstances going on black hair and classic white hair. Are there white stylists who understand the thank you to shrink black hair and vice versa? sure, of direction. yet there's no hassle-free thank you to determine that out with out asking some akward questions and then having to blindly have confidence the solutions. yet another important element, if i pass to a black stylist, she has the impressive products for my hair (style of stupid to pass to a thoroughly distinctive place just to purchase my conditioner), can relax my hair (i do no longer think of non-black/mixed race stylists even supply that provider, a minimum of, i've got by no potential seen it listed).
