Any idea why my printer won't print?
It is selected as the default printer. It says it is "ready", which I believe that means it is not offline. The cables seem to be in tight. It hasn't printed for quite some time, but somehow it did print ONE item a couple of days ago, but that is it. Thank you for any help!

First, check to make sure you have power to the printer itself. Don't just turn it off and on again at the switch. You want to cycle the power supply by unplugging the printer for a few seconds and plugging it back in.
Then check the status of the printer itself. You may have a print job in the print spooler that has become corrupt.
If you have a Windows XP based system, try Start > Printers and Faxes. This will take you to a screen displaying the different printers installed on your system. One should have a check mark next to it. This will be your default printer.
Next to the icon will be the name of your printer, a number indicating how many print jobs are waiting to be printed, and the status of the printer.
The number of print jobs should be 0. If not, you need to remove all that are there. Right click on the icon or use the File menu above and select Cancel All Documents. You may have to do this more than once.
The status should read ready.
Once you have cleared all of the documents and the printer is ready, you should be good to go. If not, you may have to delete the printer from the system and reinstall it.
