What happens when you Flip Off a cop or say something like "F you"?

Just curious, has anybody ever done this?

Ive had a few confrontations with cops where I know Im right and they're wrong but they will never admit it, and I feel like cussing them out.... but I know you can never win against them.

I dont hate cops or nothing but sometimes they know how to push buttons and Im the type that doesnt like getting pushed around.

When you say something like that to a police officer you can and probably will be charged with Disorderly Conduct. This is a low offense charge but it is better to avoid it all together. I have been flipped off and called names by other pedestrians on the street and I usually cite them for Disorderly Conduct. If you are planning to do this I would not recommended it.

Well with the stupid stuff I see on tv that cops do nowadays I feel like wanting to be or being a police officers is a very cowardly thing to do and I'm not going to say **** the police or flip them off I just know when one is off duty and comes into the mma gym I train at to spar I put go hard *** beatings on them so they never come back 7-0 against cops in sparing which brings me back to being a cop is pretty much being a coward

I feel the same way, the L.A. Sherrifs dept is the worst.

Pull overs for no reason at all other than having a shaved head and being dark skinned.

Last time they emptied my wallet on their hood, detained me for 25 minutes while they had a great time emptying my wallet contents all over their hood and then telling me "you can go", and tossing my empty wallet at me. I wanted to tell the fat fu.k to fu.k off but all my credit cards and wallet contents would have been flying thru the air.

    BTW, im a software engineer.

And an ex-marine Iraq veteran, times like that i wish i had my M16a2

I also find it disturbing how people can defend bad cops here, in the end it never pays to kiss "authority" a/s/s just because they seem to have power.

You should read the case law Chaplinski v. New Hampshire. The US Supreme Court ruled words intended to provoke are not covered under the First Amendment. Chaplinski called the police "damned fascists" and "damned racketeers". He was convicted of disorderly conduct, and the US Supreme Court upheld the conviction.

The decision is commonly known as "The Fighting Words Doctrine".

No offense. But if you want to brag about being a "Badass". Your makeing a terriable first impression.

What happens when you get robbed on a street corner.

Do you think that "Wrong Cop" is gunna be too excited to save you?

Yea. He probably would. Because hes a ******* good guy.

He doesn't need to take YOUR ****. So bugger off before his off-duty friends knock some sense into you.

    -Edit-

    To the former marine.

    I'm not defending bad cops.

There are alaways bad people in groups.

I'm sure you met some bad marines.

But It sounds to me like he just wants to show off how cool he his for insulting a cop. When most of them are really trying to just help people. Even people that insult them. Most of them are good guys. And it pisses me off to see punks trying to prove something at a (Good)cops expense.

The could site you for disorderly conduct, or just give you a warning.

You go right on ahead, Mr. Know-it-all. Go ahead and cuss them out, it's your right to free speech. You obviously have no where near the same knowledge of the law that almost any police officer is required to have. Your lack of respect for the officer will subject you to even closer scrutiny by the officer. Believe me ... he can and will find something to arrest you for

They will beat you up and find some way to hide the evidence.
