20,000 Muslims attack Church -- where are the headlines?

20,000 Muslims Attack a Church in Cairo!

This was posted yesterday on the Assyrian Int'l News Agency website and I have not seen any mention of this in American news.

Any idea why this is not making headlines around the world? Comments?

Update:

Sorry. Here's another source. Jihadwatch.org

Update 2:

Here is a .pdf file from the U.S. Dept of State on relations between the U.S. and Egypt. It mentions human rights violations against Coptic Christians.

The world in general is indifferent to the pogroms and persecutions of Coptic and other Eastern Christians.

Anti Christians like to excuse this by blaming the Christian victims of today for atrocities generations ago or hundreds of years ago and excusing their current oppressors and murderers. That's just bigotry.

Imagine the reaction of Muslims if mosques were pillaged by Non Muslims( although Islamdom did little for the Muslims of Bosnia and left most aid to Bosniak Muslims up to Christians and the West) and if Western governments seriously restricted practice of Islam?

It sounds like the numbers have been inflated: AsiaNews (which carries a fairly comprehensive report) says "several thousand" protesters trapped the Christians inside. It adds that "two cars were burned, and five people were injured, in addition to the damage to the newly consecrated church." I assume further information will be forthcoming from more mainstream news sources (I'd keep an eye on the BBC website, which has fairly good news coverage from Egypt).

Well, the link is dead but it shouldn't suprise you that Muslims in many countries attack Christians. In Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other predominantly Islamic countries. The majority always abuses the minority. I don't understand why the U.N. doesn't condemn these actions since usually the governments of said countries turn a blind eye to it. If Christians had attack a mosque in the U.S. or Europe you'd bet it would've made international headlines.

You do not hear about it in the American news media because it might upset the Muslims. Right now the Muslims blame everything on "radical Muslims" and do not want to admit and face the fact that even the common every day Muslims are "radical." It is a problem of the faith.

The link is below if anyone wants to read the story.

sure, Muslims do respected different peoples faith. this is a sin to attack somebody reason of their faith. you won't be in a position to additionally vandilase their place of worship. people who're doing this are madmen. they are not muslims. in the event that they the place they does not be doing this. i'm hoping the present information that has been happening does not make you think of all Muslims are undesirable. i'm hoping this helped.

    this one is not broken

The islamic governments don't allow the media to know about the persecution of christianity in their world, where I live.

Especially Egypt which the europeans criticized about its bad dealing with the Coptic people. Because the islamic governments especially egypt deny that.

    The poor Coptics.

This is happening ALL the time and we never hear about this crap.

    So sad.

EDIT: Guys, the Coptic Christians have been dealing with Muslim violence spoecifically very recently in the last few years. Many have died for being Christians, this isnt a *fake story* this really happens outside of Paris Hilton land of the dogs in small purses and America, the home to the most billionaires in the world. wake up.

    404 on that link.

I'm wondering how they came to the figure of 20,000. That's enough to fill a stadium, so it seems a bit unwieldy for an 'attack', unless the church is enormous, or the muslims tiny. Did they count them as they attacked?

Well I doubt as the article says that they did this because of an addition made to the Church. I really don't support actions like this at all. Violence is never the first resort nor should be be an option at all. The article gives no information about the even at all, just some short videos of people yelling. I really don't think its much at all. Crowds of people do stupid things every day.

Bad link, but I managed to find the video via http://www.aina.org/

Thank you. This is why I don't trust American media, and why I'm so thankful for the Internet. Our news agencies are not concerned with what's really happening in the world. They are concerned with their advertisers and appealing to the public so they can make money.
