Who has been the biggest turkey in the NHL so far this season ?
Happy Thanksgiving to all - even though this is about 6 weeks late for our hockey brethren to the North.
Interesting to see the majority opinion leaning towards Avery. Ironically, I get his "anti-hero" marketing comments, but there's no question about his negative influence in a room. The difference is that Drury, Shanahan and Gomez served as a suppressing factor in NY, whereas the sideshow is in full effect in big "D".
Bob, I saw Semin's comments more as a criticism of the NHL's marketing strategy, as opposed to Crosby himself. From the standpoint of "hey, how about the rest of the talent in the league?" I agree with him 100%. As luck would have it, that failure by the league has created work for me, so I'm not complaining THAT much.
PS It's also a little hard to keep pace in the scoring race from the IR.
PPS Sorry, Bob, you weren't the one pointing out the current point stats between Crosby and Semin. That was PJ Stock, last night. my apologies.

For my team...I would go with every defenseman on the Wings. They have all been producing points but the Wings are doing terrible on goals against. Even Lidstrom acknowledges it.
For the league...Marty Turco. After a brilliant playoff performance last season, he has been incredibly disapointing so far.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well Zap.
I would say Tom Kostopoulos for his run at Mike Van Ryn and later 3 game suspension.
Honorable mention-To any of the people in the NHL who actually were discussing aboot assessing a penalty to any player who left his feet to block a shot.

Given recent events, Ryan O'Bryne has been a pretty big turkey... coincidentally right around turkey day. Over the past couple of days he has:
1. Scored on his own team to tie a game the Canadiens were leading with 5 minutes left, which they eventually lost in the shootout
2. Passed the puck to the opposing Johan Franzen, who subsequently skinned him for a highlight reel goal
Happy turkey day O'Byrne, Franzen thanks you for the early X'mas present. Gobble gobble.

I'm going to go with Alexander "no comment would be better" Semin.
When I woke up this morning, Sidney Crosby was above him in the scoring race.
Oh, but he has been sidelined you say..............well.........what's more special? A guy with 164 points in 208 career games (not even close to a point per game) or a guy with 322 points in 234 career games............oh yeah, one is a -10 in his short career. I'll let you guess which.
No need to call out your opponent, especially when you can't back it up.
Kovalchuk.....another turkey.
Radulov.........turkey.

Marion Gaborik.
The guy has played just one game this year due to injuries but fortunately for Minnesota, guys like Koivu and Miettinen have stepped up their play in his absence.
-Happy Turkey Day Zap! Haven't seen u in ages!
