just enter ure router settings page (192.168.1.1) and restore factory settings.
if that doesnt work get a friends router connect it to ure line, leave it for 2mins (dont change settings, just wait for it to sent and recive packets), then reconnect ures.

I know what's wrong.
Xbox live/microsoft have been having connection issues since the NXE update was made available.
Various people have not been able to connect to xbox live and sign in. Hopefully, but it depends - microsoft will be able to sort out the issue by January.
Don't worry the problem isn't at your end, it's at microsofts, and they're trying their best to fix it so everyone can connect without no problems 24/7.
Anyway, I know how to temporarily fix the problem and be able to connect straight away.
If you have a router, reset it - take out the main power cable for 30 seconds then plug it back in, and wait for about another 1 minute then you can try to connect.
If you've got a modem, then do the same thing, just reset it.
You should be able to sign onto live for the next few days then might have to repeat the process.
