If a child is naturally left handed and forced to be right handed how does it affect the way the brain?
forms and how does it affect behavior of the child or any other details you may know about?
Wild Bill - I went to grade school in the 60s also! I remember having a hard time learning to read. It was hard but the teacher threatened to put me in the slow class so I forced myself to read but to this day reading is work for me. I am a good reader but and have a college degree but reading is not pleasureable for me.

Way back when it was common practice to discourage kids from using their left hands. It's no longer the norm so please don't do that.

It really doesn't effect the brain, but things like writing could have a big set back. When I was in grade school, back in 1960's, I 'wanted' to be left handed, but the teachers thought that it wasn't normal. My printing and drawing were terrible. I had to be tutored by a professor of art (calligraphy)
to get my lettering legible. It is known that left handed people who have strokes have a better time regaining speech and movement because the brain usually has the clot on the 'other' side of the brain.

no. Nothing happen!!
I was naturally left handed and forced to be right handed.
and now, my left hand is stronger but i don't use it much as the right one.
Scientists have say, if you use the left hand, your right hand will grow. That's make you more creative. And you right brain love art.
In the other hand, the left one is the one of logical........
Just don't worry to much, everything is gonna be alright.
I'm really smart. ;)

i started out in life a lefty...from what i'm told. i was forced to use my right hand. i'm no expert, but i think it affected my brain somehow. i can't do math...i can grasp the simple concept of a simple math problem. my dad was a lefty, the man was a genius in math. i could just be dumb, or this could have some tie to it.
